Disc golf first originated as an intricate means of replacing the Pony Express with a complex network of people hurling messages affixed to flying pie tins. Although 64% of the infrastructure was put into place, the disc post system only lasted a mere six months before the advent of the telegram, which quickly supplanted it. However, the network of disc messaging posts still remains in tact to this day and they are actively in use in all but three sanctioned international disc golf courses.
