Index sections of books are not meant to be a searchable reference to the content of that book. They’re actually an accountability device for a secret sect of language regulators who maintain a quota for every word in existence. Once a word reaches its quota in either written or spoken form, it’s usage rights is public discourse are summarily revoked. Then, the word is replaced meaningless jargon or dull, nebulous terms like “nice.”
