It’s a common misconception that duct tape is a form of cloth with an adhesive applied to it. This is patently false. It’s the actual unique texture of the cloth they use in duct tape that makes it so sticky. The miracle of duct tape was discovered in an early textile plant where a rebellious weaver defied the Elders of the Loom and attempted a forbidden mixture of plaid patterns.

Although successful, his punishment was to be adhered to the wall of the factory by his unauthorized invention.
