Lie #2047
June 27, 2015 by Ernie Vance

Caterpillars do not turn into butterflies. The truth is that the butterfly is the only animal that exposes its stomach (the cocoon) to the outside world for a prolonged period of time. Caterpillars are captured by cocoons and slowly digested over time. Once it’s finished consuming the caterpillar, the butterfly detaches from its stomach and tears its way out to avoid digesting itself.
